Data Preparation

In your Excel/Numbers/Google Sheets, start by dissecting project information into separate sheets (e.g: sheet 1 = Project 1, sheet 2 = Project 2).

Make sure there are at least four columns labelled with:

  1. Name

  2. Start Date: format MM/DD/YYYY

  3. Target Date: format MM/DD/YYYY

  4. Driver Type: for each line label as a 'requirement', 'task', 'component', or 'milestone'.

  5. Nested Driver Type: use as a separate line under the Driver type line describe a sub driver.

Optional columns:

  1. Status: for each line label as 'To Do', 'In Progress', 'Complete'.

  2. Description: add any additional information attached to the item.

  3. Resource Cost: add the number of hours each driver will require for completion (Workload).

  4. Collaborator email: assign collaborators from your organization automatically by listing them using this format: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].

  5. Collaborator role: assign roles based on collaborators. Roles will line up with the order collaborator emails are listed. Ex: Editor ([email protected]), Editor, Viewer.

  6. Assignee: label an assignee from the list of collaborators.
