Adding a fixed dependency between two objects in Integrate is easy! First, expand the object and go to thesection of the card.

⚠ Warning: Fixed Dependencies Can Impact Downstream Dates

Fixed dependencies maintain a rigid time gap between connected objects. If one object moves, all linked objects will shift accordingly to preserve the same interval.

This means that changes to a single task can unintentionally push or pull critical downstream dates - such as a launch date.

If you're concerned about key milestones moving, you can lock the start or target dates of an object (like a launch) to prevent unintended changes.

Learn more about Locking Dates here (INSERT LINK): How to Lock and Unlock Dates on Build and Driver Cards.

You can add a 'Fixed' type dependency as either 'Blocked By' or 'Blocking', depending on your needs.

For this article, I'll be adding a 'Fixed' type 'Blocking' dependency. Click the 'is blocking' selection bar to begin.

If you're adding a 'Blocked By' dependency, select the 'is blocked by' selection bar instead.

Under each selection bar you will see a list of available objects that you can link as dependencies.

Tip: Use the Search bar to quickly find objects by name!
