Critical Path

Learn how to reveal the Critical path feature.

The critical path is the sequence of dependent tasks that determines a project’s earliest possible finish date. If any task on this chain slips, the overall finish date slips too—because there’s no slack available to absorb the delay.

If dependencies in your schedule are built correctly (see previous articles on dependencies) you can select a driver on your schedule and activate Critical Path view via 2 methods.

Note: In order for Critical Path to work, objects need to be linked by a No Overlap or Fixed dependency.


Method 1 - Using Display Button

After selecting an object, navigate to the top right:


Method 2 - Use the Omnibar Shortcut

After selecting an item, navigate to the omnibar:


Regardless of the method, Integrate will display the Critical Path for the selected item, which will look like:

Tip: there will be a pink border around the Gantt that informs you that you are viewing Critical Path. If this does not happen, there may be dependencies that have not been established correctly.
